The train starts to slow and after a few minutes stops at the Hogsmead Station. Zan gets up and heads towards the door with Zinthara right behind him. at he door Zan says: "Well, are you coming or not?"

I pick up my luggage and then Micky. She suddenly wakes up with all the noise of all the other students plus us moving around. "I'm ready. Let's go." Follows Zan.

A Voice rang out through the train: "Leave your luggage in your compartment, someone will collect them and bring them to the castle."
I reached into my trunk and pulled out my wand, and my money bag. These were the two most important things in my trunk, so if anything happened to it, I would still be ok. Upon leaving the train, I saw many students walking around, a sea of robes and hats. All the taller students seemed to be heading to our left, towards some carriages with weird creatures being used as horses.
"First years, this way please." Came the call of a older looking woman. She seemed to be leading us to a large lake.

After hearing the older woman saying to leave our luggage on train, I turned back around (fortunately I only made it two steps out of the door) and put my luggage back in the compartment. I grab my wand and walk back out and follow the other first years.

Being ahead of the others Zan is already waiting near the docks when they arrive. Zan then says: "I see you heard the lady and found your way here." Sounding very excited.

Finally caught up with Zan and the others. "Yes I guess I did." Trying not look over enthused but not doing too well.

I was still taking everything at face value. Only later would I become aware of how magical this lake, and the castle which sat near it really was. There were twenty-one boats. Each boat could hold two students, with the boat in front holding the guide. I did a quick head count, noting twenty boys and twenty girls. his would be an interesting year...I hadn't had this much human interaction since my muggle schooling.

Not saying much once on the boat Zan only looks at Marcus as though asking something. Either of himself or Marcus.

I noticed Zan and Marcus get on one of the boats and follow them. I decide to sit in one of the boats next to them.

The boats suddenly started moving, floating along the lake. It was a clear night, giving me a view of the surroundings. I saw somthing moving, somthing large, just below the surface of the water.
"That's just the giant squid," said the guide, "It wont hurt you, assuming you don't jump in."

Momentarily distracted Zan looks down at the water with only a slight look of surprise, apparently having read up on it. Zan then says "You don't always get to see the Squid."

While my boat was moving across the lake, I noticed how clear the water was and the giant squid. I wanted to talk to it but decided not to cause I never spoken to a squid before. I mostly speak to land creatures and Micky. I also do not want it to accidentally jump up and scare everybody. That would be really bad. I wonder if anyone else here can speak to animals like I can?

I notice the staring, but choose to ignore it. I can swim just fine, but with the squid I don't want to alienate Zan to the point of either of us falling out of the boat. If this continues at the school, I will tear through him like wet paper...

I look back up from the squid so I don't get strange looks. I then start a friendly conversation with the girl sitting in the boat with me.

Zan suddenly in an unusual tone (from what you know of him at this time) says: "You are Important." Then looks around when the boat came ashore and gets out as though nothing has happened.

...Freak," I mutter under my breath. Then again, by the standards I've been raised by these past eleven years, every person around me is a freak. And since I wouldn't be here if I wasn't like them...

The guide brought us to the castle. It was breathtaking to behold. at the top of a large stairwell, we saw someone else waiting for us, an old man. The guide left us, and he remained.
"Welcome to Hogwarts. We are currently outside of the Great Hall. The students are all seated. All that remains is to sort you into your houses. There are four: Hufflepuff, Gryfindor, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin. The sorting ceremony will take place shortly. Please wait here."

"de Monte Aquilæ, Kalosaer Zandru-Voy" says the old man. Zan looks up at him in surprise. "Me?" "Yes you appear to be the First on on the list. Go on up and put on the hat as it said to, you can call me Professor Kalak by the way." So Zan heads up to the hat on the stool and puts it on, a little doubtful as to what it does exactly to tell which house one belongs to. Suddenly as soon as the hat is settled on Zan's head, the hat starts to talk to him...

The Hat: "You can be very Quick witted when there is need; a little Absent minded, but that appears to be a necessary trait for you and your ability to work together; when you focus you tend towards the the Ravenclaw House, but when not focused you tend towards the Hufflepuff House. Ah but here is the deciding factor: you learn fast and even faster when focused and engaged you like challenges and can make a wise decision, even though the option is not always apparent to others as being wise you can see far..."

Zan: "So? What house am I to go to?"

The Hat: "RAVENCLAW!"
