The table third from the entrance started clapping, which must mean that's the Ravenclaw table. Zan ran off, and the Professor started naming more students. Hufflepuffs table seemed next to Ravenclaws, closer to the door. Slytherin was on the far side of the hall, with Gryfindor being closest to the door. More and more students were called. Finally:
"Flint, Marcus"
The hat felt slight moist on my head, due to the sweat of other students. My head started tingling from its magic.
"My My My...You are an odd one, aren't you? Ambitious. Courageous. Loyal. Quick Witted, wise beyond your years, caused by the tragedy's you've lived. You will be a difficult one to place. You've a tough exterior, Slytherin would welcome it. But your softer, friendlier on the inside, more suited for Hufflepuff. The Gryfindor's would welcome you with open arms to be sure, but would that really be the best fit. This has got to be the hardest sorting I've had to do in years. I'm debating throwing you back to the muggles, but the magical power within you would cause catastrophe's, if left untrained. There's only one thing for it.

After Marcus got up, many more put on the hat and get placed into one of the four houses. It felt like forever before the older wizard was going to yell my name. I was getting really nervous but excited at the same time. Finally it was my turn.
"Nebelski, Maurana."
I stood up and walked over to the hat and it was placed on my head. I tried to ignore the sweat... and sat down.
The hat then spoke: "Aah Yes.... Maurana.... Like your mother you are very kind, loyal and dependable but you possess the rarest of gifts. You have a very kind heart and would sure never to use it against others. I know exactly where to place you: HUFFLEPUFF!"

The students all finished sorting. Once everyone was seated, an Elderly woman, sitting in the middle of the head table stood up.
"Attention students. I have a quick announcement to make: Your feast, is served."
Food magically appeared in front of us. Turkey, ham, food I had never seen before. It was all spread out, the aroma divine. I dug in ravenously, unaware of how hungry I was.

As the food disappeared it magically replaced itself with more. Zan after seeing his favorite foods of all (Spicy Cheesy Taco Casserole, Super Cheesy Spicy Garlic Bread, Roasted Pumpkin Cubes, Roasted Beets, Roasted Carrots, Sweet & Spicy Tofu, Honeyed Carrots, Sugar Snap Peas, Ritz Crackers in Steamed Cauliflower, Terryaki Beef Strips, Boneless Spare Ribs, General Tso's Chicken, Pizza, Taco Salad, Sushi of all kinds, & many many other foods as well) appear, dug in with gusto and managed to eat four heaping plates of all the food favorites and then he tried some other kinds of food on the fifth plate. Without a word Zan eats and eats, he eats as though he has not had food for a week.

When the food appeared on her plate, my stomach started to rumble as though I haven't eaten any food before. With out a word I pile my plate with food and eat like I have not eaten before. I continue to eat until I could not eat no more.

After a while, the main course left the plates to be replaced with dessert. Cakes, pastry's, ice cream, the works. I couldn't eat another bite as it was, but I still had a couple brownies.

As soon as the main course disappeared Zan felt as though he had eaten only one or two heaping plates so he decided to have three heaping plates of desserts. Once he was full he looks around looking satisfied at last.

I hate the fact I have a major sweet tooth. I could not resist the temptations when they appeared on the table.

I watched Zan eat. I couldn't help thinking: "Wow...fatass."
The desserts disappeared. The Headmistress stood up again.
"Attention. I have a few start of term notices to announce. First off: The Forbidden Forest is banned to all students. I really shouldn't have to remind our older students of this. Classes that were originally held on the sixth floor are being moved to the fifth until further notice. The entire sixth floor is forbidden, for reasons I truly do not wish to discuss. We are working feverishly to try to rectify the problem. For now, be mindful. I'd hate to send owls home to parents of dead students.
The Prefects will escort you to your houses at this time. Thank you, and may we have a good year."

Zan looks around wondering who the Prefects were for the Ravenclaw House.

Trying not to look excited, I wait to see who would be escorting me and the other people in my house.

A tallish man came towards the first year end of the table. "Hi there, I'm Brendon. I'm the Ravenclaw prefect. Follow me please. Were lucky you know. The entrance to our common room is on the fifth floor. We don't have to go far for our classes this year."
He lead us to a statue on the wall. "Now then, normally, the statue asks a riddle, and you have to solve it to get in. Since it's the first night, you all get a free pass." The eagle statue turned clockwise, then the wall itself shifted. we were met with a spiral staircase. The staircase brought us to a room with comfy chairs and a roaring fire.
"The left staircase will lead to the girls dorms. The right will lead up to the boys. Boys, don't try going up the girls staircase, it never ends well." He raised his sleeve to reveal a scar on his elbow.

Looking around the common room Zan saw a night sky painted on the high vaulted domed ceiling, tall expansive vaulted windows, that were displaying the night shrouded mountains to the West with the waxing moon high in the sky shining brightly. Zan also notices that the floor is covered in a luxurious midnight blue rug with stars as the pattern which he thought was suiting for this nice and airy of a room. As Zan notices these things he feels as though he has been here before and starts to feel extremely tired and decides to head up the right hand staircase.

After Ravenclaw left it was our(Hufflepuffians) to go. A lady walked up to me and the other first years to show us where to go. "Hi everyone, my name is Jade. Time for me to show where your dormitories are. Let's go." We followed her to right near what appeared to be the kitchens. To which we saw a lady still life painting. She then said: "Move along everyone, keep up. I don't want to lose anyone on the first day." We continued to walk through some tunnels and eventually entered to the right of the main entrance staircase. Then we headed down another staircasee and through some more tunnels and eventually we were in the dungeon. "Ok, everyone we're here...." She continued to talk, while my eyes wandered across the common room and noticed a lot of comfortable looking arm chairs and a lot of yellow and black paintings across the walls. I eventually decided to listen in just in case she said something important. It was a good thing I did to. "Ok the witches dormitories are to the right (she pointed to a round arch way off to the right) and the wizards to the left (pointing to a round arch to the left). Wizards are not allowed in the witches dorms and the witches are not allowed in the wizards. You can hang out in the common room. I will leave you now explore as you wish." I decided to go to see what my dorm looked like.

We headed up to the dorm room. Zan was ahead of me, not that I minded. When we got to the room, we were met with 5 fourposter beds. My trunk was in front of the bed to the left of our window. I noticed the other boys changing into there pajamas. I had never worn pajamas and didn't intend to start now. I stripped down to my boxers, and crawled into bed. Breakfast would be early tomorrow morning. Sleep hit me like a sack of bricks, to use a muggle saying.

By the time Zan made it to his bed he decided to go to sleep without changing, for no sooner did he get close enough to fall onto it, he did just that, he was out before he had even started to collapse onto the bed. Zan slept without a dream he was soon so deeply asleep that it was more like a coma.

I wander off with a couple of other girls to find where my bed is. I find my luggage next to my bed. I suddenly feel tired. I reach into one of my bags and pull out one of my night gowns and dress in to it. I crawl under my covers and drift off in to a slumber.

It was around eight in the morning when I woke up. I nudged Zan so he'd wake up, then I lead us down to the great hall for some grub.

Zan feeling much refreshed follows Marcus and says: "Thanks for waking me up Marcus."

I wake up to the sound of a couple of other girls chit-chatting and decided to get up. I dressed and brushed my teeth and decided to get something to eat. I walk in to the dining hall where I see Zan and Marcus. I give them a quick wave of hello and sit down to eat breakfast.

As we're eating breakfast, an older woman comes around our table handing us our course schedules.
Monday:
9 am: Charms w/ Hufflepuffs
Lunch
1 pm: double Potions w/ Hufflepuffs
dinner at 6:

Tuesday:
9 am: Transfiguration w/ Griffindors
Lunch
1: Free period
3: Defense Against Dark Arts w/ Slytherin's

Wednesday: Same as Monday

Thursday: same as Tuesday
1: Herbology w/ Gryffindors

Friday: Same as Monday

Zan looks over the Schedule with enthusiasm. Then continues to eat the rest of his First and only plate.
